Start with the product, not the machine

A production line should be designed backward from the product that must leave the factory. The first discussion therefore needs a sample, drawing or clear specification: material, finished width or diameter, construction, elasticity, number of colors, surface finish and target output.

This information determines more than the main forming machine. It also affects yarn preparation, bobbin size, carrier or tape positions, tension control, heating, finishing and winding. Buying one machine before mapping these relationships often creates bottlenecks later.

Define the complete process flow

List every step from incoming yarn to packed product. A webbing line may involve warping, weaving, heat setting, starching, rolling and packing. A cord line can require winding, braiding, tipping, cutting and bundling. Some steps can be manual at the beginning; others directly limit quality or output and should be included from day one.

  • Confirm the raw material package and yarn count
  • Set realistic daily output and shift hours
  • Identify the slowest downstream operation
  • Allow access for operators, maintenance and material movement

Confirm utilities and handover

Voltage, frequency, compressed air, heating source, floor loading and available space must be confirmed before production. The quotation should also state which accessories, spare parts, manuals and remote support are included.

A good purchase decision is not simply the lowest machine price. It is the configuration that can be installed, operated and maintained by the actual team at the destination factory.
